Answer. Restore the book, draw the face from the book, find the name with the flashlight, type SCRIBBLY, and take the map she recites.

Chapter 1 of the walkthrough and the Fandom page tell the same story. Patch 1.08 mentions a pencil texture problem. Put the pencil away before you leave.

Case

I have not confirmed whether the game wants capitals. The guides print SCRIBBLY in capitals, so that is what I type.

The map goes back to the toilet creature so chapter 2 can open.
